🌮 Canyon Skillet Holy Taco Moly! Bake
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10 oz) can green chilies, drained
1 (10 oz) can verde sauce
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
2–3 tsp Hells Canyon Spice Co. Holy Taco Moly!
1 cup shredded cheese of choice
1 box or batch cornbread batter
For garnish: Salsa, sour cream, extra shredded cheese, sliced scallions, and olives.
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Brown the meat: In a 10–12" cast iron skillet, cook beef, pork, and onion over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the flavor: Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute. Add verde sauce, green chilies, salt, pepper, and Holy Taco Moly! seasoning. Mix well and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Layer it up: Spread the meat evenly across the skillet. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over top. Pour cornbread batter evenly across the surface to cover.
- Bake: Transfer skillet to oven and bake 15–20 minutes, or until cornbread is golden brown and cooked through (a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean).
- Finish & serve: Let cool slightly. Top with salsa, sour cream, extra cheese, scallions, and olives.
🔥 Flavor Tip: Before baking, sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese and a pinch of Holy Taco Moly! on top of the cornbread batter for a golden, flavorful crust.
Want to level it up even more? Mix chopped green chilies, scallions, or a spoonful of cream cheese into your cornbread mix for a creamy, tangy kick.
